a little sprinkle of eye candy...

Well, I've decided to try this blog thing again! I have been busy working on projects, blog ideas, business plans, homeschool planning + just taking care of my sweet family being mom.  I have been at home now a few months, the tides have changed and I have been blessed with an opportunity to focus less on design and more on celebrations!  And I am so excited for whatever this universe brings me next.  I know that whatever it is, it will be full of beauty in so many ways.  Beautiful details, celebrations that celebrate beautiful people, + lots and lots of beautiful color, my favorite eye candy! 

I am excited to launch an online shop, share some party inspiration and introduce you to many local vendors who can also inspire + help you plan your next life celebration!

I know how important it is to show your work so that people, well, understand exactly what it is you do!  I am asked all the time what it is I do, and really, I feel I can wear so many hats, the options and services ac's can provide are almost endless when you think creatively.  To start to share more of what it is we can do I have put together a few photo collages.  These are just simple photos taken with my iphone of recent work to help give you a little visual sprinkling of what we do.   The plan is to share the professional photos taken and feature each one of these lovely events that ac's was so grateful to play a special role in.

It's a 2nd birthday Shark Theme!

Wow, another year has passed, my baby turned 2!  This year I wanted to do something simple and fun, it kind of snuck up on me and my budget for extras like party supplies was limited.  So, I did my best with what I had and kept my budget in check!  I was quite happy with the outcome...and so was he!  He has an August birthday, in Michigan it makes for a great sunny month.  It was also near shark week and this year the boys swim gear was sharks, so I knew that this would work great!  Sharks!





I started by collecting inspiration from my favorite place, pinterest, and other blogs and websites.  I created an inspiration board packed full of great ideas!

 



Next I created a couple of idea boards that were meant to show how I wanted to display my decor and food at my buffet in an elevation view and a floor plan view of the party table the kids were going to be sitting at.  This made it so simple to set up the day before, even with kids around!  They couldn't distract my thoughts and slow me down, it was already thought out!



I also put together a full plan that helped me know about how much I was about to spend shopping for the final details I didn't have on hand.  This was an AWESOME tool!  I finalized the menu and decor ideas, made a list, added budget numbers and viola!  A plan was born....!

Last party detail the invitation!  I had a cute photo of him in his life jacket having fun in the sun!

When it came time to pull it together I was attempting a couple of new techniques and learned a few things in the process but I enjoyed trying to create some super cute party ideas!

First Birthday Party

My youngest son Julian just turned one! I wanted to share this super fun Bee-day party with you! I put together an inspiration board of images I gathered, along with some colors and graphics that inspired me! This really helped me with planning and pulling it all together!

The day was full of FUN! Our Ju-Ju Bee turned one, I had to do what I love to do....and that is host a party!

My amazing mom designed and decorated this beautiful cake! Thanks mom!

And Ju-Ju Bee enjoyed his cake very much!

Pasta Chef Salad, I created this salad based on Julian's favorite foods at the time! I wanted something healthy, kid friendly, and easy! I served this with Honey-Mustard dressing! YUMMY!

The BIG Cup of Dirt with slimmy gummy worms!

For fun we had a bounce house, coloring pages with bugs and played an outdoor game where I gave the kids a bug catcher kit from the dollar store and hid little bugs throughout the yard! They enjoyed this!

Amy + Mike

This wedding invitation bundle and wedding program was custom designed for Amy and Mikes special day! Peacock blue, silver and paisley designs were featured in this package. The set was stunning! The bride and groom used the monogram throughout their wedding, including their thank you notes. Thank you Amy and Mike for the opportunity to work with you, I really enjoyed the process with you and your mom Kathy!

Natalie + Jeff

I recently worked with this awesome couple that I have known for a long time, thank you Natalie and Jeff for the opportunity, I loved being a huge part of your amazing day! Natalie wanted something unique and elegant, that was eclectic but romantic... We used lots of different vases in different shapes and sizes, we had two types of centerpieces one that was a flower arrangement and the other was a collage of glass, candles, and flowers! The head table was a collection of milk glass, candles and flowers! It was beautiful, and it really showcased them! I also designed and assembled their wedding invitation bundle, they were green with a hint of purple!

Alyssa + Colin Wedding

I recently had the joy of working with Alyssa and Colin on their amazing wedding day! I designed and assembled their beautiful invitation bundle. The colors of their wedding day were navy and magenta. The wedding took place in Ann Arbor, Michigan, both were graduates of U of M. The ceremony was outside in a courtyard, and the rain held off just long enough to get married! It was beautiful and perfect. The bride loved gerber daisies, and wanted to be surrounded by all shades of pink on her wedding day! Congratulations to you both! And thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with you, I really enjoyed being a part of your special day!
